About Uncle Sammy
Born in N.Y.C. in 1914, he was the youngest child of a Jewish family who fled from persecution and poverty in Russia.
Uncle Sammy was born a humorous eccentric. It was his true nature.
He was the President of a small company. His ‘real’ job though was his kindhearted joyous humor that brightened the atmosphere for everyone working there.
By turning everyday situations upside down and inside out he would reveal a deeper truth not easily seen. This ability awakened in him until he knew this to be his real purpose in life. He said “I help people laugh and to see they are more important than they think they are".
In 1993 he was diagnosed with dementia and deemed incompetent, but really he was a ‘Holy Fool ‘ lighting up his own life and all those around him. He kept this inner knowing throughout his life and that is how he and his niece Sandia came to write this book.
