Sandia Siegel is currently living in Hawaii.

As a painter, her inspiration has been to paint what is sacred; Mother Earth, the spirit of the people and cultures. 

The paintings inside and on the cover of the book are of her uncle’s spirit. 

Before her life with Sammy, she worked as a counselor and licensed clinical social worker.  In her work she met people that our society views as aberrant and marginal but who actually had amazing gifts.  She saw that when a person's strengths, wisdom and humor are held in high regard and respected they are themselves transformed and become a great benefit to others.  

Her Uncle Sammy was clearly one of those people.  Someone whom society considered a cast off.  She knew him to be a Holy Fool with great humor and Wisdom.  “Enjoy the Ride” is one of those gifts, the journey of an unlikely sage.
